Sturdy, functional, and solid. Matches other Winsome studio office furniture with honey finish. I now have five pieces of this series of furniture, and have been very happy with them. They are not fine furniture, but have some nice design features like slightly tapered legs and beveled edges to the tops. Sort of mid-century school library with a style that will not look out of place in many homes. Winsome also has an arts and crafts style series of furniture that I like, but they weren't the best fit for my current location. This table and other pieces in this series are nicely finished. The honey finish is just right for my taste - not too dark, but also doesn't look like unfinished wood. The finish is fine on the exposed sides of the furniture, although a little less satiny on unexposed surfaces. The construction is almost all solid wood. Rather than large boards, some have been boards have been joined from smaller boards - but still solid. The drawer bottoms are not wood - probably for the best. On this piece, the drawer runs on a wooden guide, a little sticky, but similar to some vintage furniture that I own. The drawer is smallish, but useful, for example, for small ink cartridges, extra cables, and a box of paperclips (have the Winsome drawer/file cabinet for bigger items). Was very easy to assemble - I like that it uses real screws and bolts. All in all, a nice appearance, sturdy, functional, and a great value for money. This was purchased to use as a printer table and it works very well for our large printer. The bottom shelf holds several reams of paper and the “smallish” drawer is big enough for ink cartridges and usb drives extra cables, etc. The one negative thing for me is the bottom shelf. It is not permanently installed but rests on four small metal pegs you install on the legs. With enough weight on the shelf, it stays in place. These Winsome furniture pieces are excellent value for the money--you're paying the same price as an Ik*a piece, but you're getting something made of real wood. Yes, as some reviewers have mentioned, the wood may occasionally have knots or other irregularities, but that's natural in real wood. It was relatively easy to assemble: the legs need to be attached (by 2 screw bolts apiece) into the top, four dowels need to be pushed into the lower part of the legs in order to hold the bottom shelf, and the drawer knob needs to be held on by a screw. I would say it took me about 35 minutes to assemble using the small pitiful wrench provided; if I owned a better wrench, I probably could have done the job in 15 minutes.TWO TIPS:(1) The four legs are NOT interchangeable: each leg must be attached so that its dowel holes face toward the long dimension (23") of the furniture, in order to properly support the printer shelf. I laboriously screwed in 2 of the legs before I realized that. I would suggest that you insert the dowels before you attach the legs, so that you can easily visualize which leg needs to be attached at each corner of the table.(2) It isn't easy to screw in the legs if the furniture is being assembled while inverted on the floor; I placed the inverted table on top of my(properly protected) dining room table, and thus was able to screw in the legs without bending over.I should say that I also bought the Winsome Wood Computer desk, and these 2 pieces of furniture are very practical, give a large surface area for doing work, and make a nice matched set at a very reasonable price. I've only had the 2 items for a month or so, and can't comment on their long-term sturdiness, but based on their overall construction I'm sure they'll give good value for the money. Hey, if you want something that can be passed down to your great-grandchildren, maybe buy something for 5x the price from P*t*ry B*rn, but for the price, this is a good piece of REAL WOOD furniture (from Thailand). And contrary to some of the other reviewers, I had no problem with damage from 'poor packing'; both pieces of furniture arrived without any shipping damage. It arrived in perfect condition! Quality construction. Easy assembly. I only referred to the instructions once (to confirm which legs were for the front-left and right) but the overall assembly was so simple that a 10-year-old could manage it. Small tightening wrench was included. Only needed a small Phillips screwdriver to attach the drawer knob. --- Not a single scrap of MDF or pressboard or particle-board. It is indeed SOLID WOOD through and through. We are VERY PLEASED with this purchase. The only thing we added were self-adhesive, 1" diameter felt pads on the bottom of each leg. (Wood-legs on wood-floors is not a good combination.)The base shelf is removable and rests on four metal "shelf-pins" that are inserted into each leg. Even though the center of the shelf is 1/8" plywood, the side (framing) pieces are solid wood, and it's sturdy enough to hold a small (12-bottle) Wine Enthusiast wine-bottle cooler.Only one minor improvement could have been made. And this is a nit-picky criticism on my part... the plywood base was attached to the solid-wood frame with tiny finishing nails that were "hammered-in" with a nail-gun. Each nail was perfectly positioned, but the head of each nail is below the surface level of the wood. --- This "defect" in workmanship is only due to the assembly-line nature of this type of furniture and would only bother the most critical person. For our purposes, the wine cooler that we've placed on the bottom shelf completely hides the nail heads, so I'm not worried about it. However, if we were using this table for any other purpose, I'd get some matching Minwax wood filler putty and dab it into the small nail-head holes. Again, they're so small that the only person who's likely to notice is YOU (but only because you put it together)... but from a normal viewing distance, NOBODY else would notice. We anticipate needing other small tables and cases for our home, and the Winsome brand will be our FIRST choice when shopping again.I was looking for a printer table but aghast at the prices of even cheap and rickety ones. This one, however, even at full price makes a sturdy table for many uses. The drawer is a little fiddly, though, you need to pull it straight out and tip it down to fully open, and tilt back up and in to close it again. Still, at least it opens enough to be useful. Very happy with my purchase.Overall decent product but don't expect a super high quality piece of furniture. It is probably made in some factory in China. I purchased two of these; the first one came with no defect but the second one had some defects. I couldn't even open the drawer! I got a replacement from Amazon which was better but still had some defects. I decided not to go for another round of return when Amazon instead offered a partial refund. So make sure you get a decent return policy when buying this.Nous avions besoin de cela pour un micro-ondes et la hauteur-largeur et juste parfait pour nos besoins. Was looking for a well-built, well-priced printer stand and this one is both. Love the design and color and it holds my large printer with no problems. Was easy to build and is very sturdy.Putting it together was easy ..the bottom shelve didn't fit tight , but I'm happy with it (-:
