The texture is cool but the comfy of it is so so or it could be just me. I done fell on my knees twice in the same spot 2018-2020 had me and my doctor baffled. It was as easy as a puzzle to put together. you just have to find the right piece for the outside edges.Assembled well. Had to cut some edges flat but that is because of location. Would have liked to get them in yellow and black but the blue is calming. Recommended for light duty workout areas, won't hold up to repeated heavy weight drops.Pros:Not too squishy nor too thick when set on wood, laminate flooring. We have a power cage, a heavy bag, some bumper plates, and metal plates. We powerlift on these mats. None of our equipment wiggles from any give through the mats being squishy, though, the mats are squishy enough that when we do any major lifts without shoes on, we still feel well balanced. It's also been great for minimizing echo within the room and part of the house.Our gym room is more rectangular, but the mats filled the room nearly perfectly. Be sure to know your square footage.Fits perfectly in front of our closet door in our gym room. There's a few inch gap between the door and the floor. The door glides perfectly over it, not even grazing the mats.Despite the little cross bumps all over the mats, it's still smooth enough for us to move equipment when necessary.Our cats love these mats potentially too much. Even our grumpiest, eldest cat curls up in random spots on the mats to lay down and nap for hours on end. They keep clawing it up and, despite having basically chicken talons, they haven't been able to horribly tear them up to the point of pieces being shredded all over or being torn through to create holes.Easy to clean. We used our microfiber mop head and rung it out really well. Kicked on our central unit fan and it dried in no time. Our previously mentioned old cat has health issues and pissed on one section of the mats. The mats did not absorb the urine, nor did the urine get between the puzzle connection parts. The color of the mats have not changed.Cons:The smooth edging connections sometimes doesn't overlap properly with the edge piecing next to it and you might have to cut a slither on the edges for them to fit right. It's hard to explain without showing video of what we did, but it's an easy fix with a box cutter.Cats might enjoy clawing them up a bit too much and the sound does get a bit loud. So far, we're losing this battle, but we're getting there!If you have a cat that is basically a small dinosaur, be prepared for them to lay on the mat with you and bully you the entire time. They will let you know this is their gym floor, this is their mat, and you better do your best on it.They don't seem to come in more rectangular sizes to better fit rooms that are not actual squares. More diverse sizing would be helpful, but it's not the worst.The smell of the mats will fill the room. I've light mopped with a VERY well rung out microfiber mop and Pinesol. (This was due to cat accident and decided to disinfect the rest while I was at it.) The smell is still there, but not nearly as potent as before. It's not a bad smell, but it can be overwhelming. It's spring time for us, so we crack the windows for no less than an hour and it helps greatly. If the rubber gym smell gets to be overwhelming and you can't crack the windows, turning on a fan and putting a candle or other scent related things does reduce that rubber smell.Be mindful of the cleaner you use as harsh chemicals may cause damage, but Pinesol does not seem to be a problem after one use and one round of dish soap with the same microfiber mophead.I love it! I got the 12piece floor mat. We are turning our third room into a work out room.I did it all alone super easy to put together. I love the sturdiness & quality to it. Pretty thick and durable. Does not slide. I definitely recommend if your looking for floor mats say for working out or even if you have kids these are great if you have tile or wood floor.I ordered these to extend the workout area in our yoga & fitness studio. Because they were advertised as gym mats (not just the regular foam mats) I did expect them to be a bit denser than they are, but the surface pattern and finish is perfect for our use and the fit and size were great, and two-tone color was a nice option.These look so good in our workout room. You will not be disappointed. They have the perfect amount of cushion.I bought two sets of the 24 piece set for a little workout area in my basement. The pads are a tad thin, but im not using heavy weight or big items so I'm happy with it.I use this to do Tracy Anderson workouts which are a mix of cardio and weight exercises where you may be lying down or on your knees.The good:- does not move around on wood floor while doing weight exercises that do not have much movement- VERY comfortable cushioning for knees and wrists, lying down. Absolutely no knee pain. I do not need a separate mat to cushion my joints. I have tossed hand weights (note: less than 10 lbs) and worked out with a kind of heavy folding chair on these tiles and there was no damage to the tiles or even denting.- Easy to clean- good durability (I also roll my office chair onto some pieces as a floor protector and it holds up!)- no smell, does not absorb smell of sweat- hair does not stick to the floor (easy to clean up/vacuum)- good grip even when your hands are sweaty- floor absorbs sweat wellThe bad:- The tiles do slightly slide on hardwood floor when doing exercises that have more force and movement, like if you do a lunge and then quickly switch positions laterally- I did not need to glue any of the tiles together initially, but after about 6 weeks, I had to glue a single which had begun to expand away from other pieces due to frequently pushing down on that tile away from others (like doing a downward dog type of position, where you have opposing forces). The tile's pieces no longer quite matched up due to having stretched away. Eventually I had to glue together some other pieces. In about two months, I glued together 4 pieces in different positions. They were not damaged at all, but they had just started to kind of extend away from other pieces due to pushing down on them.- If your feet catch out the connecting seams of the puzzle pieces during a quick movement, you will push up some of the puzzle seams and this can be distracting- the pieces that come with the tiles to cover the edges do not allow you to necessarily do so seamlessly all the way around the edge. Some pieces need to be cut to fit against edges of another tile. Some other reviewers mention this. This is a cosmetic problem that is easily fixed, but mildly irritating.Do I regret buying this? No. I do not regret buying this because it gave me the chance to try my workout on a much larger surface area for a low investment (rather than be limited to a small regular exercise mat)Will I replace this with a solid piece of exercise flooring (like a large exercise mat)? Yes. This will also be way, way more expensive but I am prepared to do it after having used this for a over 2 months successfully.
